If you had told me a few years ago that my two biggest worlds—science and crafting—would collide into an arts and crafts club for kids, I might have laughed. But looking back, every step of my journey has led me right here.
By trade, I am a Registered Nurse. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and another in Nursing. I’ve spent years at the bedside and even more time teaching aspiring nurses as a clinical preceptor and classroom instructor here in California. I love science, I love teaching, and I have always possessed a lifelong passion for “creating something out of nothing.”
But my most important (and chaotic!) title? Mom to a fiercely curious 4-year-old and an incredibly adventurous 1-year-old.
How This Passion Project Was Born
Like many parents, I found myself trapped in the modern parenting dilemma: the screen-time battle. I was carrying around that heavy weight of “mother guilt” every time I handed over the iPad just to catch my breath.
Then, everything changed. My 4-year-old started showing an interest in arts and crafts.
We started coloring, cutting, and pasting together. Almost instantly, I noticed something amazing: the screen-time cravings practically vanished. Instead of begging for a tablet, she was actively hunting around the house for new projects we could build together.
But the absolute best part? The look on her face when she finishes a project. Watching her eyes light up with pure pride showed me exactly how valuable these moments are. Crafting wasn’t just passing the time; it was building her confidence, unlocking her imagination, and bringing us closer together.
Why I Created This Club
I wanted that same feeling for every parent.
I decided to combine everything I wholeheartedly love—science, teaching, creativity, and motherhood—to create this arts and crafts club. My goal is to give you the chance to see that exact same look of pride, wonder, and confidence on your own child’s face.
I am so incredibly excited to meet you and your little ones. Let’s get messy, learn something new, and start creating memories together!
Warmly,
Christin Mathew, BSN, RN (and, most importantly, Mom)
